"Now to the order of the day," Martin Bormann said aloud, interrupting the small talk - once again catching the group’s attention. He lit a cigar, puffing between words.
"Historically," he continued, "The German Reich has established support organizations throughout South America even before the First World War. Over the past few years, we have expanded our presence. President Ramirez and Peron in Argentina have been of great help until recently, as have other regional political personalities. Our network has extensive financial resources, which is essential for an eventual exile government." Borman paused and scrutinized the men around the table. “However, we have a problem."
He shook his head, and his expression changed as he raised his voice. "We have had too many damn partners in this endeavor. German corporations, their subsidiaries abroad, Axis partners, the Vatican and the Pope, members of the German clergy, and on and on. Himmler involved too many people," he sneered as his eyes took on a sinister dark hue.
Excerpt.
The double doors to the balcony were still open, and the moonlight came straight through the doorway as they walked in.
"You were right. It looks magical," Isabella said as she entered the room. "It almost feels like something out of a movie."
Nick kissed her neck. "Maybe we should write the score together for the perfect moment that follows?" He murmured.
"Nick," she whispered, blushing.
When he came out of the bathroom a few minutes later, the room was dark, the lights were off, and Isabella stood on the balcony, facing the Mediterranean Sea in a naked silhouette. He could not see the details of her body, but his imagination and senses, more powerful than sight, filled in the blanks.
